Primary school of Gonnoi: Polytechnic Uprising in 17th November 1973

A moving celebration for the Polytechnic Uprising from the 5th Grade!
The 5th grade students of Gonnon Primary School, under the guidance of teacher Mr. Robertos Karatzos, presented an inspiring event dedicated to the 51st anniversary of the historic Polytechnic Uprising, in November 1973.

The musical preparation was carried out by the school musician, Mrs. Theodora Koltsida, while the teachers Mrs. Aikaterini Pouliou, Mr. Dimitrios Siozios, Mr. Georgios Alexandris and Mr. Alexandros Anastasiou contributed to the organization and implementation of the celebration.

The event was honored with their presence by the President of the Municipal Community of Gonnon Tempi, Mr. Thomas Papadontas, members of the Parents and Guardians Association, as well as representatives of local bodies and parents.

The school Principal, Mrs. Apostolina Saiti, welcomed the guests, addressing them and reading the message of the Principal of Primary Education of Larissa, Mrs. Aikaterini Karagiorgou.

The students, through poems, stories and songs of the choir, brought the history of the uprising to life, highlighting its decisive importance as a symbol of the struggle for democracy and freedom against the regime of the Colonels' Junta.

One of the most moving moments of the celebration was the performance of songs by the student Panagiotis Banioras, who, with his guitar, offered a particularly emotional note to the event.

The event, full of meaning and emotion, was a valuable opportunity for students to become aware of and understand the timeless value of democracy and the need to protect fundamental rights.

The school celebration for the anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising was truly exemplary and deserves warm congratulations to all who worked for its success!
